This is a painting about a visitor who comes over and tells you that they are sincere in wanting to simply say “Hello” and share a cup of tea with you while catching up. You’ve prepared dinner, cooked some fish, put some vodka on the table, and excitedly prepare for your visit. After a bit of time, you realize that your visitor’s intentions are actually sinister, and you realize that this person is actually prodding you for information about people you know, your family, the level of support you have for your government, etc. This is when you finally see the tongue of a snake emerge from your visitor. You are now confused (double-sided face), thinking how could this person who I’ve known for years and trusted as a friend actually be manipulating and using our friendship?! In the end, you are forced to display the red flag of the communists in your hand as you realize that there is no one around you that you can trust.
