This is a painting of the artist. He is held up by belts, used in many other pieces of this collection to symbolize the constrictions which existed in his life as an artist. He still clutches onto his paintbrush although there isn’t much he can do with it. There is a bullseye on his chest because he was always a target being an artist in the former Soviet Union.
