Birds seem to be a harmless part of society however the new regime used all means possible to spread the word about the communist rules. In Russia it is tradition to have rooster figurines in kitchens because they bring luck and health and well-wishes into the home. In this painting the communist lady is riding a rooster so that his loud morning voice can wake everyone up with the propaganda. The raven has also been recruited to carry the hammer and sickle alongside the journey. This group of characters has already converted one church by propping up a red flag to take the place of a cross, and they are en route to the convert the next church they find.
